The National Space Society held the first International Space Development Conference (ISDC) in May, 1981 to bring together space enthusiasists and share their ideas about the future of space exploration.

The Society's goal of "creating a spacefaring civilisation" is given vision by the assembled members, space advocates, astronauts, scientists, journalists, politicians, lobbyists, entrepreneurs and the representatives of space agencies from around the world.

Each year, the ISDCs are held in a different city in the United States, and members of the National Space Society are invited to attend the five-day conference held in May over the U.S. Memorial Day holiday period.

Further information about the ISDCs can be found on the National Space Society website...
